oh, marc(s)

Marc Johns, an amazing artist with doodles as great as his imagination.
And Mr. Marc Jacobs. There's something about the way this collection is put together that makes me want to dress solely in utilitarian clothes, with lots of outerwear and hats and gorgeous boots.

finder's keepers

I found these great pair of Doc Martens listed for $25 at the local swap meet. I talked the guy down to 18 smackaroos and I now am in possession of a delightful new pair of boots for the fall. Can't wait to style them.

a gem among jewels

I love this collection. There's something about it that's so young and vibrant but at the same time put-together and sophisticated. The mixture of patterns and proportions are way cool in a generation of not-so-cool casual styling. I also really love the bright bags; they're such a change from my normally dark bags.

left my heart in

I made these sort of garlic- and Parmesan-cheese-covered rolls, but the rolling part didn't happen, and they ended up flat. But they still tasted amazing.

here comes the bride

But not really. I'm far too young to be considering marriage already. But I can still look at bridal-related hair pieces by Lo Boheme. And maybe even wear them without any wedding to attend.
My personal favorite. It's custom, but Lo, the girl behind Lo Boheme seems more than happy to make similar or even duplicate pieces. Especially the ones without the veil would look great with any of my sweeter, girlier outfits.

third annual

Hopefully going to this when I visit San Francisco this next week.

zippers and lace

This shirt/dress was a lucky find at Kohl's. It was part of their Elle collection, which actually isn't too ugly, considering it's sold at Kohl's. But I found this shirt in an XL and I'm wearing it as a dress. I love that it has lace on the shoulders and there's a pocket that's closed by a zipper. Zippers and lace. I love.

i wish it were colder already

What I like about this look by Twenty8Twelve is that it looks like summer mixed with fall. Take away the leggings, and sweater, and add sandals and sunnies, and you have an outfit perfectly fine outfit for a summer day. But I love it just the way it is.
Another outfit from Twenty8Twelve that I love (and which I bet looks even better in person) is this jean vest striped dress combo. It's awesome that both of these have slightly sheer leggings.
It's outfits like this that make me wish it were fall already. Oh, Proenza Schouler, you guys are way too cool.
And beautiful coats like this from Organic by John Patrick that double as a dress could be toughened up a bit with some dark boots.
I normally don't like fur, but this outfit by Band of Outsiders is just amazing.
I love pairing a big tee-shirt dress with a big comfy jacket. All I need now is a fur hat complete with horns.
I love how airy both of these dress, boot, and jacket combos by Erin Fetherston are.
These would be perfect for the days when it's just starting to get a chill in the air, but it's not totally fall yet. So pretty much San Francisco year-round.

i shoot things

A friend suggested I get this as a tattoo. The idea is appealing.

Someone carved this into a MUNI seat. First graffiti on public transportation that didn't make me angry at fellow bus/train riders.
Painted this using a stencil on a table for a friend.
Street art is most definitely one of the pluses of randomly walking around San Francisco, whether or not there's a specific destination you're headed for. I've noticed stencil art popping up randomly, and the idea was so interesting that I went and bought A-Z stencils from my favorite craft-slash-random-crap store in the Castro district. But don't worry, haven't painted anything on public property--yet.
